Associate Professor Philip Kofi Adom
I am Professor Philip Kofi Adom, a dedicated academic and researcher with over ten years of experience in applied energy and environmental economics, policy, and sustainable development. Throughout my career, I have been committed to bridging the gap between academia and industry. I have successfully collaborated with African Development Bank (AfDB), Centre for Global Development (USA), Public Utility Regulation Authority of Ghana, International Development Research Centre (IDRC, Canada), UNICEF, SiDA Environment for Development Inclusive Green Economy (EfD, IGE) just to mention a few to develop practical solutions that address real-world challenges. My work with these institutions has led to publications and successful projects such as the Malagarasi 47 MW hydro project in Tanzania.
As a passionate academic, I have taught a diverse range of courses, including natural resource economics, environmental economics and policy, energy economics, environmental finance, applied time series, and panel data econometrics. I believe in fostering an interactive learning environment where students can engage critically with the material. My teaching philosophy emphasizes experiential learning, collaborative projects, or critical thinking, and character formation and development.
