Project - AI in Predicting and Managing Diabetes Complications
This project will develop AI algorithms to predict and manage the risk of major complications in Type 2 Diabetes (T2D), including chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular events, and diabetic foot complications. Using national registry data, electronic health records, and clinical trial datasets, machine learning models will identify early indicators of complication risk and generate personalised intervention timelines. Special focus will be given to kidney and vascular diseases, given their high burden on patients and health systems. The AI tools will be integrated into specialist and primary care systems, enabling clinicians to proactively adjust treatment plans. The project will be implemented in collaboration with Monash Health, St Vincent’s Hospital, and national diabetes networks.
Call for Partnerships:
We welcome partnerships with universities, health services, primary care networks, technology providers, government agencies, and community health organisations to provide data access, clinical expertise, digital health capacity, and co-funding for large-scale trials.
