Project – Culturally Adapted AI Tools for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Diabetes Care
This project will co-design culturally adapted AI tools for the prevention and management of Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Developed in partnership with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), Indigenous health workers, and community leaders, the AI platform will integrate clinical, community, and social determinants data to create culturally relevant risk prediction models. These models will support early detection, personalised care pathways, and self-management strategies tailored to local contexts. Pilot programs in remote and regional clinics will test the tools’ usability, acceptability, and impact on health outcomes. Indigenous governance will be embedded throughout the research process, ensuring that solutions are community-owned and sustainable.
Call for Partnerships:
We welcome partnerships with universities, health services, primary care networks, technology providers, government agencies, and community health organisations to provide data access, clinical expertise, digital health capacity, and co-funding for large-scale trials.
