Project 6 – AI-Guided Reduction of Excessive Phone Use in High School Students
This project will tackle the growing issue of excessive smartphone use among high school students, which is linked to reduced physical activity, poor sleep, and declining academic performance. Using AI algorithms, smartphone usage patterns will be analysed in real time and linked to wearable sensor data measuring activity, sleep, and mood. The platform will deliver personalised behavioural prompts and challenges, aiming to reduce screen time and improve overall wellbeing. Interventions will be implemented in partnership with education departments, schools, mental health services, and parents. The program will be evaluated for its impact on activity levels, sleep quality, academic outcomes, and mental health.
Call for Partnerships:
We welcome partnerships with universities, health services, primary care networks, technology providers, government agencies, and community health organisations to provide data access, clinical expertise, digital health capacity, and co-funding for large-scale trials.
