Project- National Digital Twin for Physical Activity and Health
This project will create Australia’s first “Digital Twin” of population-level physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and associated health outcomes. Drawing on wearable device data, national health surveys, and environmental mapping, AI models will simulate how changes in policy, infrastructure, and public health interventions affect physical activity and chronic disease prevalence. The tool will allow policymakers, urban planners, and health services to test interventions—such as new bike lanes, school activity programs, or workplace wellness policies—before real-world implementation. Partners include CSIRO, VicHealth, and international urban health experts, ensuring global applicability. The open-access simulation platform will provide an ongoing decision-making resource for improving Australia’s health outcomes through evidence-based physical activity promotion strategies.
Call for Partnerships:
We welcome partnerships with universities, health services, primary care networks, technology providers, government agencies, and community health organisations to provide data access, clinical expertise, digital health capacity, and co-funding for large-scale trials.
