ExpertGate is assembling a research team to submit an application under the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) – 2025 Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Grant Opportunity. This grant supports targeted implementation research to improve the health, wellbeing, and care outcomes of older Australians, particularly within vulnerable and underserved communities.

Focus areas include research to understand and overcome barriers to best-practice aged care across:

- Different care settings (e.g. home care, residential care, hospitals)
- Diverse population groups (by disease type, age, or other characteristics)
Intended Outcomes
- Stream 1: Deliver evidence-based interventions that extend the healthy, active years of life for at-risk and underserved groups.
- Stream 2: Promote the national adoption of high-quality aged care practices that improve outcomes across systems and settings.
We Are Seeking Collaborators With Expertise In:
- Healthy ageing and dementia prevention
- Public health and health equity research
- Implementation science and community-based interventions
- Indigenous and CALD health
- Rural and remote health services
- Aged care systems, workforce, and governance
- Digital health and AI for ageing populations
- Health economics and policy evaluation
Eligibility & Submission
- ExpertGate is an MRFF-approved organisation and will lead the application process
- All submissions will be made through NHMRC’s Sapphire system

- Any previous experience with dementia, ageing, health equity, or MRFF/NHMRC grants
