I am Dr. Ioannis Bournakis, an Associate Professor in Economics at SKEMA Business School in Lille, France, with over 20 years of experience in academia and research. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Kent and an MA in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Manchester. Throughout my career, I have taught at prestigious institutions such as Middlesex University, Birkbeck College (University of London), Athens University of Economics and Business, University of Kent, and the University of Greenwich. I also spent a year as an Associate Professor in Economics at the American University in Cairo (AUC) during my research leave in 2019-2020.
My research focuses on Macroeconomics, Productivity, Spillovers, International Trade, and Innovation, and I have published in leading academic journals such as Economic Letters, Economic Inquiry, Review of Income and Wealth, Regional Studies, Macroeconomic Dynamics, and Economic Modelling.
