Md. Imrul Hasan is currently employed as a Team Leader: Food Safety SPS at USAID - The Future Bangladesh Improving Trade and Business Enabling Environment, International Development Group LLC. He has more than 20 years of working experience in policy advocacy, regulatory affairs, partnership & liaison, managing donors and partners, private sector engagement, project management, and leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program. He is also an internationally recognized competent resource for Food Safety Management System Auditing, Inspection, Testing, Training, Teaching, Research and Development, Quality control, Quality Assurance, and Product Development.
He has completed MS and B.Sc in Nutrition and Food Science (Dhaka University), Post-Graduation in Food Safety Management from the College of Agriculture and Life Science under Cornell University, USA; PGD in Social Compliance (BIM), and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (NU).
Mr. Imrul is a qualified Lead Auditor and Trainer for international Management system standards like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC-Global Standard for Food Safety, Organic Products certification, HACCP, GMP/ cGMP, GCP, ISO 22716, PAS 220/223, IFS, BAP, Global GAP. He has conducted extensive training and audits both at home and abroad for well-renowned institutions and professionals, retailers like PepsiCo, Tesco, Unilever, Nestle, Danone, Walmart, Yum (KFC, Pizza Hut), McDonald's, GAIN, WPF, FAO, ILO, UNICEF, etc. in various countries such as UK, German, USA, Philippines, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, etc.
He is the Member Secretary of Food Safety technical committees engaged by the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority facilitating to draft of Food Safety legal documents such as Food Safety Rules, Regulations, COPs, Guidelines, etc. Also developing certification and training programs for Food Business Operators and Food Safety Regulators of different agencies and ministries.
He is also one of the members of the Food Safety technical committee helping to develop 3rd party accredited certifications and training programs.
