With over 25 years of experience in the health sector, I have a strong background in healthcare management, digital health, data analysis, and translational medicine. I have had various roles in the healthcare sector spanning industry and academia. In my current role, I am a Professor and Head of Discipline at Queensland University of Technology, where I am responsible for the healthcare management and digital health teaching and research programs. I also undertake medical informatics | translational AI | health services evaluation research as part of my role. In my most recent past role I was the Director of the MBA(Healthcare Management) program at Deakin University, whereby I established and oversaw the design, delivery, and evaluation of the MBA(HCM), Grad Cert, micro-credentials, and masterclasses offerings. I was also an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine, where I taught and researched healthcare management and medical informatics topics, with a focus on the evaluation of health technology and the application of AI in healthcare.
I am passionate about integrating AI in healthcare safely, ethically, and effectively and empowering individuals and organizations to improve health outcomes and quality of life. I have established and chair the Centre for Advancement of Translational AI in Medicine (CATAIM), which is dedicated to the progression of applied AI in healthcare. I am also an entrepreneur and the Chairman of Healea Life. This healthcare technology company develops AI-enabled solutions for preventative health/chronic condition management and supports clinicians in developing generative AI applications.
Also, I hold multiple certifications and fellowships in health informatics, health service management, and translational medicine. I have been recognised as a digital health expert by the WHO, ChangeMaker by HIMSS and a global achiever by the Indian Achievers Forum. Further, I serve on the editorial boards of several prestigious journals and contribute to health policy worldwide. Finally, I am completing a book for Elsevier titled "Redefining Global Healthcare: Integrating Technology for Accessible and Affordable Care", set for release at the end of 2025.
