Dr. Mohammad Alhaz Uddin is an accomplished Academic and Civil Engineering professional with extensive experience in teaching, research, and practical applications of Structural Engineering. He has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Al-Jouf University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, since 2018.
Dr. Uddin holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Adelaide, Australia, conferred in July 2017 with the prestigious Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence. Earlier, he earned a Master of Engineering Science from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, in January 2013. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh, completed in March 2007.
An expert in the analysis and design of reinforced concrete buildings, Dr. Uddin possesses a strong command of Civil Engineering software, including AutoCAD, ETABS, Midas Gen, and ABAQUS. His scholarly contributions are highly recognised within the global scientific community, with over 50 research articles published in high-impact, ISI-indexed journals and presentations at eight international conferences. His publications have garnered significant attention, accumulating over 2,300 citations and achieving an h-index of 17 (Google Scholar).
Dr. Uddin’s academic excellence has been acknowledged through numerous scholarships awarded throughout his educational career. Additionally, he has held teaching roles as a casual academic at two prestigious institutions: the University of Adelaide and the University of Malaya. Before transitioning to academia, he gained practical industry experience as a Structural Design Engineer and Consultant on a mega project in Bangladesh.
