About
Dr Mohammad Riyadh is a leading research strategist and innovation specialist, currently serving as the Director of Global Research Partnerships at both the Australian Graduate Industry Research School (AGIRS) and ExpertGate. He’s heading up the development of what aims to become the world’s largest AI-powered research lab, designed to reshape how research is delivered, funded, and shared across sectors.
At the heart of his work is a simple mission: to connect researchers, businesses, and institutions—locally and globally—to fast-track real-world, impact-driven innovation.
With more than 15 years of experience in research development, academic–industry collaboration, and grant strategy, Dr Riyadh knows the ins and outs of navigating Australia’s funding landscape. During his PhD, he secured competitive funding from the Australian Government, and has since led or contributed to numerous funded projects backed by major players including NVIDIA, AWS, Microsoft Teams, and leading universities.
As the founder of ExpertGate, he’s also secured R&D support through the Australian Government’s R&D Tax Incentive Program. Dr Riyadh is particularly passionate about helping researchers and small-to-medium businesses (SMEs) tap into the support they need to innovate, grow, and scale their impact. He regularly works with organisations to build fundable research projects, form strategic partnerships, and make the most of government programs.

I recognise the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) across all sectors, and I am committed to helping educational institutions integrate AI into their curricula to prepare students for a rapidly evolving job market. My AI-Integrated Curriculum Development Consultation is designed to assist universities and colleges in embedding AI into various academic disciplines, ensuring that students are equipped with both the knowledge and practical skills to thrive in an AI-driven world.
I guide institutions in designing courses that cover the fundamentals of AI, such as machine learning, data science, and natural language processing, as well as the ethical implications of AI technologies. Furthermore, I work with educational organizations to incorporate AI tools into traditional disciplines, enhancing the learning experience and providing students with hands-on exposure to real-world AI applications.
By 2030, my consultation will ensure that graduates are not only prepared for careers in AI-related fields but also able to leverage AI to solve problems across a wide range of industries, from healthcare and business to engineering and beyond. I emphasise the importance of AI ethics, ensuring that students understand the broader societal and economic impacts of these technologies.
Through this consultation, I aim to help institutions create innovative, future-proof curricula that keep students at the forefront of AI advancements, preparing them to lead and innovate in an AI-powered future.
